Dynamic websites -
A dynamic website is a website which contains pages whose content can be controlled by the clients directly. Dynamic websites are built using development technology such as ASP.NET. There are two types of dynamic pages, in a dynamic website.
CMS driven pages - these are basic dynamic pages, where in a website the content is manageable from a back end page. For a sample of CMS driven page go to the website - www.clientdemosite.com. There is a good sample of CMS driven page. Client can modify the content of the page, whenever they want to.
Advanced dynamic pages - These are pages in a website, where there is regular updates required, such as news, articles, publications, etc. For this kind of page in a website, the client has a back end page, where they can enter new items, and also delete or modify items. The updated items automatically reflect in the website.
Static Websites -
Static websites are websites built using basic HTML technology, where all the content on the site is static. A website is typically a combination of static and dynamic pages. Static websites are typically easy to build, and therefore cost effective, and quick to build.
Below are lists of steps for a static website development project:
Website development requirement from client.
Proposal of costs (based on number of pages, and quality of look and feel).
Client places order for website development.
Client is required to fill the website design questionnaire. The questionnaire captures a lot of information, such as the desired look and feel, color combinations, business information, competitor information, etc.
A website concept is built using the questionnaire input.
The website concept is reviewed with client, and modifications are made as required.
Content is provided by client, for all pages of the website.
Remaining pages for the website are built based on the approved concept.
Final website is shown to client and approval is sought.
Approved website is made live, by transferring the website to clients live server.
